Terms of Use

Last updated 31 October 2026

Please read these terms, especially section 4 on live trading. In short: the site shows information, it isn't advice, and if you trade real money with your desk, the decisions and the results are yours.

1.Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply to everyone who visits or signs in to Paper Desk at flash.me.uk (“the site”). By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2.What Paper Desk is, and isn't

Paper Desk is a dashboard. It shows reports sent by trading software that each account holder runs on their own computer, along with public market data and plain-English explanations.

The site does not hold money, does not hold or manage brokerage accounts, and does not place orders. Neither the site nor its operator is a broker, dealer, investment adviser or portfolio manager, and neither is registered with the Alberta Securities Commission or any other provincial securities regulator, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA or any other regulator.

The site is run by the owner of Paper Desk, an individual based in Alberta, Canada (“the operator”, “we”).

3.Not financial advice

Everything on the site is for information and education only. Scans, signals, confidence scores, “what the bot would do” notes, backtests, performance figures, market data and the glossary are not recommendations to buy, sell or hold anything, and they don't take your circumstances into account. Talk to a registered adviser before making investment decisions.

Backtests are hypothetical, paper results are simulated, and public pages show sample or demo figures. None of them is a real track record, and past results are not a forecast. The Risk and results disclosures explain the limits, and they form part of these terms.

4.Live trading and risk

Desks run on paper (practice) accounts by default. Today, live trading is used only by the site's owner, on the owner's own brokerage account; it is not offered to other accounts. If you ever run a desk with real money, you accept that:

  • the decision is entirely yours. Orders are placed by software on your own computer, through your own brokerage account, under your broker's terms;
  • you are solely responsible for every order and its result, including losses, fees, commissions, interest, taxes and anything owed to your broker;
  • trading is risky. You can lose some or all of the money in your account, and a loss can be larger than planned when prices gap, markets move fast or orders fill late;
  • software, data feeds, brokers and internet connections fail. The desk may misread data, miss a stop, lose its connection, or send or fail to send an order;
  • order limits, confirmations and automatic switch-offs reduce some risks but don't remove them;
  • paper results, backtests and past performance don't predict future live results;
  • you'll watch your account yourself, and you're responsible for following the laws and broker rules that apply to you.

5.Market data

Prices, news, movers, rates and crypto figures come from third parties (currently Finnhub, Financial Modeling Prep, CoinGecko, the U.S. Treasury, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Frankfurter, Cboe and Alternative.me). They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and they're shown for personal, non-commercial use only. Don't copy or redistribute them. Don't rely on them to trade.

6.Accounts

  • You must be at least 18, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, to create an account, join the mailing list or send a message.
  • Keep your password and your desk token private. You're responsible for everything done with your account.
  • New accounts need an admin's approval. Admins may approve, suspend or delete any account at any time.
  • Only connect a brokerage account that you own and are authorized to trade.

7.Messages and the mailing list

  • The contact form stores your message so the operator can read it by hand. Nobody is on call, and no reply time is promised. Never send passwords, PINs, desk tokens or account numbers.
  • The mailing list is only for people who ask to join. You can leave at any time through the link in any email or the contact page.
  • Nothing you send us creates an adviser, client or business relationship.

8.Acceptable use

Don't try to break into, probe or overload the site; don't scrape it or access other people's data; don't use it for anything unlawful; and don't use it to trade an account that isn't yours.

9.No warranty

The site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The site may change, pause or stop at any time.

10.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the site's operator is not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, lost data, or indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from the site, its data, or any software connected to it, even if told such losses were possible. The site is free; to the extent any liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site in the 12 months before the claim, which is $0. Some of these limits may not apply where the law doesn't allow them, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

11.Your responsibility to us

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover the operator against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the site, your trading, or your breach of these terms.

12.Ending your use

You can stop using the site and ask for your account to be deleted at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the site or other people at risk. The sections on advice, risk, warranties, liability and governing law still apply afterwards.

13.Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The date at the top shows the latest version, and an important change will also be pointed out on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

14.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Alberta, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there or to rely on its consumer protection rules.

15.Contact

Questions about these terms: use the contact page or call (403) 471-3798. How personal information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
